Training
Himelfarb Consulting approaches training/education with an OD approach understanding the current situation and needs before identifying a training solution. Many training "solutions" are frequently executed without alignment with culture and strategy. While some skill based training programs can be used quite effectively, an initial assessment is required to understand the need and context of how the training will impact the results desired.
Once the need has been clearly understood, Himelfarb Consulting works with the internal training department and/or managers to design a training plan that fits the need. This could include a combination of formal classroom training, self-study materials, follow-up skill building exercises to be used with managers and staff to reinforce learning, and possibly other learning resources such as job aids, reference guides, books, etc.
Course curriculum development follows an action-learning model incorporating adult learning principles. Experiential learning case studies and exercises are developed with an overall objective for application to client work situations whenever possible. A combination of media including flip charts, multi-media power point presentations, exercises, participant materials, and use of quick reference guides (when applicable) is used to enhance the training experience during delivery.
