Barbara
S. Himelfarb is a management consultant with more than two decades of direct
experience in organization development, change management, project management
and training. She specializes in working with leaders to understand management
issues in the context of their own organization and manage change through
a human systems approach. Barb has been able to integrate her experience
in total quality management with cutting edge systems thinking and current
organizational development theory to support leaders in managing change.
Her experience in working with organizations through a variety of change initiatives has contributed to a deep understanding of how to "pull together" various models, interventions, and tools to help leaders manage the on-going change to sustain organization viability. Barb brings both knowledge and experience in helping organizations "see the big picture," strategize actions to move forward, and support implementation activities.
Barb holds a bachelors degree from the University of Minnesota, and
a master's degree in Organization Learning and Development with an O.D.
Certificate through the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Barb serves as an adjunct faculty member for the University of St. Thomas
Center for Business Excellence providing both customized services and
public programs.
Barb is also a master certified trainer and reseller for Options for Change, offering assessment, coaching, consulting, training and tools for implementing system-wide change focused in the areas of culture, leadership, and teams.
For three years Barb was actively involved with the Minnesota Council
for Quality as an award examiner, trainer, and facilitator. This offered
her the opportunity to evaluate a variety of organizations from a quality
system perspective based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award
criteria. She has been honored as a presenter for various conferences
and leadership retreats including ASTD and IQPC National Conferences.
